河北省图书馆的《崇厚使法日记》（图）

在中国文化和旅游部指导下，中国—中东欧国家图书馆联盟于2018年10月在中国杭州成立，联盟秘书处常设于杭州图书馆。联盟内成员馆基于平等相待、互利共赢、包容开放的原则，共同推动中国、中东欧国家图书馆事业的共同发展。

“馆藏撷珍 交流互鉴”项目由成员馆馆长介绍镇馆之宝，让珍贵典籍文献走进千家万户。在典籍的有效流动中，各国人们借此增强对彼此文化、历史的理解。

本期“馆藏撷珍 交流互鉴”由河北省图书馆党委书记、馆长刘栋为大家介绍珍贵馆藏：《崇厚使法日记》。

《崇厚使法日记》是清朝同治年间三口通商大臣崇厚出使法国所记的日记手稿本。1985年，河北省图书馆古籍部主任李鸿泉从中国书店购入，成为河北省图书馆的镇馆之宝。

崇厚，字地山，金代皇室完颜氏后裔，内务府镶黄旗人，道光二十九年举人。咸丰时崇厚以侍郎衔驻天津，办理三口通商事，创办了天津机器局。天津教案爆发后，被朝廷派往法国办理和解事宜。清光绪年间，官至左都御史，以全权出使俄罗斯，议谈收还伊犁事，擅自签订了《里瓦几亚条约》，因而夺职治罪，不久得释。

本书即为崇厚出使法国时所写日记。日记采用飞云阁红绿套印梅花笺，书内钤崇厚字号及闲章数枚。全书共分五册，分别是：乘槎（cha）手记、泰西纪游、聘礼告成、居易俟（si）命、归帆载笔。日记时间起于1870年12月2日，止于1872年2月9日。崇厚进入法国境内时，正值巴黎公社起义，日记中记述了起义场景20余处，同时也大量记述了各国旅途见闻，对研究法国巴黎公社以及清朝对外关系有重要史料价值。

The Very Collection in My Library aims to introduce treasures kept in each member library to audience in China and Central and Eastern European countries and bring ancient books into the limelight, through of which people could enhance their understanding of cultures and histories of other countries.

This episode here is presented by Liu Dong, the director of Hebei Library, introducing you the rare ancient book Chonghou's Diary on the Mission to France.

Chonghou's Diary on the Mission to France is a transcript of the diary kept by Chonghou, the superintendent of trade for three northern treaty ports--Tianjin (where he was stationed), Yantai and Yingkou, when he was sent on a mission to France during the Tongzhi period of the Qing dynasty. In 1985, Li Hongquan, director of the Ancient Books Department of the Hebei Provincial Library, bought it from China Bookstore, making it the most-treasured piece of collection in Hebei Library.

Chonghou, who styled himself as Dishan, descended from the Jurchen Wanyan clan of the Imperial House of Jin (AD 1115-1234). He was born in Xianghuang Banner of the Imperial Household Department, and graduated as juren (a rank in the imperial examination system) in 1849 (the 29th Year of the Daoguang period in the Qing dynasty). During the Xianfeng period, Chonghou was stationed in Tianjin with the rank of assistant minister to handle the trade affairs of the three ports. At that time, he founded Tianjin Machinery Bureau. Then the Tianjin missionary case took place, and he was sent to France for reconciliation matters on behalf of the imperial court. During the Guangxu period of the Qing dynasty, he was promoted to president of the censorate and with full authority made an envoy to Russia to discuss the return of Yili. However, he signed the unequal Treaty of Livadia without authorization. Therefore, he was stripped of his rank by the Qing government and was soon released.

This book is a diary kept by Chonghou during his diplomatic mission to France. The diary was written on red and green overprint plum blossom paper made by Feiyun Pavilion. Inside the book engraved Chonghou's name and some unofficial personal seals. The book contains five volumes: Notes on Cruise, A Tour to Western Europe, Mission Accomplished, Peaceful Living for Opportunities and Notes on Homeward Sail. The diary dates from December 2th, 1870 to February 9th, 1872. Chonghou entered France amid the Paris Commune Uprising, so the diary recorded more than 20 scenes of the uprising, and, of course, lots of what he saw and heard in the countries he travelled, which are of great historical value for the study of the Paris Commune of France and the relations of the Qing dynasty with foreign countries.
